BuzzFeed unveiled its new office in Northeast Minneapolis at a grand opening Tuesday.

The New York-based media company moved into a 6,000-square-foot office at 945 Broadway St. N.E. Monday.

BuzzFeed added operations in the city late last year after it acquired staff from local app development company Hyper IQ. The company plans to have 30 engineers in Minneapolis. It has hired 16.

It shares the building with 612Brew, Spyhouse and CorePower Yoga, among other tenants.

Mayor Betsy Hodges, who revealed she has the BuzzFeed app on her phone, attended the party and even offered her own “listicle,” “The Top 13 Reasons You Should Be Totally Excited about BuzzFeed Being in Minneapolis.”
