A new restaurant, Sprout Salad Company, opened its first location at RBC Plaza in downtown Minneapolis. Sprout, located on the skyway level at 555 Nicollet Mall, is now open, but will have an official grand opening Dec. 10.
“We believe that creating a great customer experience starts with taste,” said Daniel Gittsovich, Sprout Salad Company co-founder, in a release. “Our produce is delivered daily to ensure that everything we offer is fresh and of the highest quality. Everything is prepared in front of the customer so they can see, smell and of course taste what makes Sprout unique.”
Gittsovich and fellow co-founder Dmitry Kenigsberg have developed a menu with executive chef Jon Rogan to give a new twist on the conventional salad bar using locally sourced ingredients and seasonal options. Customers can order original salads, wraps, health-conscious snacks, fresh lemonads, iced tea and bottled beverages. They are partnering with strategic design firm Shea and hospitality company Ghilani Group to create a unique customer experience and brand.
The two went to school a stone’s throw away from the downtown location at the University of Minnesota, but hope to expand the brand nationwide.
“We’re thrilled to open our first location right here in Minneapolis,” said Kenigsberg. “Sprout caters to a big need among people working downtown Minneapolis – people who want fresh food that tastes great, while remaining healthy. We’re excited to show people just how great a salad can taste when you do it right.”
Sprout is open on weekdays for lunch between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
