Construction update illustrates massive scale of new Vikings stadium

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) released a “State of the Stadium” update today with new statistics offering insights into one of the largest construction projects in Minnesota’s history.

As of July 31, construction on the stadium was 17 percent complete. That amounts to 480,000 cubic yards of concrete poured and 356,176 hours of work put in by a workforce that is nine percent female and 38 percent minority. Construction will continue until the stadium’s scheduled opening date in 2016.
