Volunteers wanted for Sheridan Memorial Park conservancy

Sheridan Memorial Park officially opened in June after nearly 20 years of fundraising and planning, and now a conservancy is forming to ensure the new park will stay pristine.

Bob Sorg, who was instrumental in helping weld the 30-foot diameter centerpiece sculpture at the park, is heading up a loosely organized group of volunteers to help maintain the sculpture, pick up trash and tend to the park’s gardens.

“It’s not any big thing, I’m just looking for people who will come to a few of the three or four events we’ll have throughout the year,” he said.
