The Eastside Food Co-op, 2551 Central Ave. NE, will hold a Principle 6 (P6) launch event festival on Oct. 13 from 1–5 p.m. P6 is a movement based on “cooperation among cooperatives.” By partnering with one another, co-ops around the nation are able to increase purchasing power to bring socially conscious food to more consumers.

The event on Oct. 13 celebrates Eastside’s membership in the P6 movement and will feature local producers of P6-approved products, such as Equal Exchange, Cedar Summit Farm, 1000 Hills Cattle Company and more. The event will also feature a small festival of films about the food system, recipes using P6 products and an educational mini-farm.
