Gray-haired man robs Thrivent Financial

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man responsible for the Oct. 18 robbery of the Thrivent Financial Bank, 730 2nd Ave. S.

According to FBI information, a lone white male entered the bank at about 12:55 p.m. and displayed a dark semi-automatic handgun, demanding money. He retrieved an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

The suspect was last seen exiting the bank and heading south through the skyway toward 2nd Avenue S.

The man is described as about 45 years old, standing between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. The suspect has a small build and may have been wearing a curly, gray wig and a gray mustache.

He was wearing a black knit cap, a light-colored trench coat and dark pants, shoes and gloves.

Anyone with information on the heist is encouraged to call the FBI at 376-3200. The Minnesota Banker's Association is offering the reward money for information leading to the man's arrest and indictment.
