As of Friday Aug. 2, the Downtown Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, will close to make way for a new library on that site.

The Central Library will move across the street to a temporary home at Marquette Plaza, 250 Marquette Ave. S.

The 300 Nicollet Mall circulation desk will remain open Aug. 5-16, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., for returns and hold/requests pick-up. There will be no computers and no access to the collection at 300 Nicollet Mall. The InfoLine telephone reference service at 630-6000 will be available Aug. 5-16, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

As of Saturday Aug. 3, there will be no access to the 300 Nicollet building from the Hennepin side.

Beginning Aug. 19, the skyway level of the interim 250 Marquette library will be open for limited service, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The rest of the interim library will open Sept. 30.

During this time, all 14 Minneapolis Community Libraries will be open during regular hours providing full service. However, on Aug. 17-18, all Minneapolis public libraries will be closed to move the library computer system. No library telephone or online access will be available these days.
