Opening Day is just around the corner, and even though the Twins may flee at season's end, director Jack Reuler and Mixed Blood Theater will never stop being fans. Case in point: "League of Nations," a fun and thoughtful look at a multi-racial group of pitchers trying to make a big-league roster. This one is written by Ken LaZebnik, who captured the sage malaprops of former Twins owner Calvin Griffith so hilariously in the play "Calvinisms." Also, tickets here are cheaper than lower-deck infield at the Dome.

Thursday-Saturday March 28-30. Thurs.-Fri. 8 p.m., Sat. 7 p.m. $8.75-$20. Mixed Blood Theater, 1501 S. 4th St. 338-6131.
