The annual Pride Celebration presents a weekend of festivities starting with a block party on Friday, June 27 at 5 p.m., featuring \'80s singer Cyndi Lauper. Regional and local acts will precede Lauper. The party is at the Ritz lot, at the corner of South 4th Street and Nicollet Mall. The Pride Festival takes over Loring Park on Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days. The festival features four stages of live entertainment, three food courts, beer gardens, a children and family area, canoe rides and fireworks Saturday evening. Admission is free. Loring Park is at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Oak Grove Street, adjacent to I-94.
The Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade will draw an estimated 100,000 people to Hennepin Avenue starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 29.
