301 Clifton is a new condominium development in the Loring Park neighborhood. The four-story complex will have 44 units set inside what will appear to be a renovated mansion.
Although it is actually new construction, 301 Clifton's developer, Unique Property Development, wanted the building to fit into the area.
"The building is very elegant and tastefully done," said Jessica Kiehl, a realtor with Edina Realty, which is marketing 301 Clifton. "Clifton Avenue is so beautiful, with a bunch of wonderful mansions. We wanted to keep the style consistent with the neighborhood."
The condominiums will range from $258,000 to $599,000; units will be 1,036 to 2,159 square feet.
The condominiums will have what Kiehl describes as a "soft loft feel."
"It kind of evokes the modern loft, but it's not the type of loft that they have going up everywhere Downtown now," she said. "A lot of the lofts by the river are the exposed mechanicals, the Chicago brick and the concrete floors. We are a completely finished loft. It's completely sheet-rocked. We still have the same type of very open spaces. Our ceiling heights are 12 feet to just over 20 feet."
301 Clifton is scheduled for completion by June 2004.
Dead rock star?
Rock Star, the restaurant on the ground floor of the Campbell Mithun Tower, 222 S. 9th St., is closed. A spokesperson for Kennedy-Wilson Minnesota Management Inc., the building's property manager, said the one-year-old restaurant and bar is closed for remodeling. A reopening date has not been set.
