Construction crews continue to lay light-rail track in Downtown, as other crews finish up light-rail stations nearby.

Fourth Street South at Norm McGrew Boulevard is now closed as construction crews install track. Crews have also begun laying track at the 11th Avenue grade crossing between 3rd and 5th streets. Work on this stretch had started last year, but was postponed until after last season\'s Central Division champion Minnesota Twins drew many fans to this part of Downtown. Southbound lanes of 11th Avenue will be closed, but one northbound lane will be open.

Overhead structures at three of the four Downtown light-rail stations have been installed. These stations are the Nicollet Mall station, the Warehouse District station and the Government Center station.

Pavers at the Downtown stations will probably start to be installed mid- to late-June. \"All of those stations will have some neat pattern on the platform,\" Josh Collins, community outreach specialist with the Hiawatha Project Office. said. \"As you\'re standing on the platform, it won\'t be bare concrete under your feet. There\'s going to be a very aesthetic look to it.\"
