Sunday benefit helps artists

A benefit for cancer survivor Howard Harrison, a Twin Cities entertainer, will be held Sunday, June 22, beginning at 3 p.m. at Kieran\'s Irish Pub, 330 2nd Ave. S. A $10 donation is suggested at the door to benefit The Phoenix Project/Harrison, which helps artists who have experienced a crisis or need.

Performances will include: Tramps & Hawkers, Reve du Faun, Tim Malloy\'s and LoJo Russo. A silent auction will also be held.

Harrison, a diabetic, was diagnosed with prostate cancer 19 months ago. He has performed at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival and many Twin Cities theaters as well as at the Chicago Jazz Festival and the Chicago Blues Festival. Although his cancer is currently in remission, Harrison has not been able to work because of his poor health and still has extensive medical bills.
