Mendota Homes, a residential developer that has mainly focused in St. Paul, will build condominiums in the Loring Park neighborhood beginning this summer.

Mendota Homes plans a 59-unit, five-story building at 245, 301 and 305 Oak Grove St. Currently, the space is a parking lot. According to company sales and development staffer Erin Mathern, the condominiums should be finished by next spring.

Mathern said that homes would start in the high $100,000 range and go up to the $400,000s. She said that most of the units have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and all condos come with at least one underground parking space.

\"The outside will be a combination of brick or stucco and some steel or metal elements,\" Mathern said. \"The building has two levels of underground parking, an elevator, a community room, and an exercise room. They all have nine-foot ceilings. Most will have hardwood floors at least in the kitchen. Many have fireplaces.\"

In addition to these amenities, residents can also pick interior furnishings from a menu of options.

\"People get to pick out their tile colors, countertop colors and carpet. There\'s definitely a lot of personality,\" Mathern said.

Though it remained nameless for a while, the condos will be known by their address, 301 Oak Grove.

Mathern said the name was picked because Oak Grove is such a well-known street in the Loring Park neighborhood.
