Downtown's Franklin Bank seeks artists

Franklin Bank, 525 Washington Ave. N., is seeking art for two group exhibitions under the themes of \"service\" and \"diversity.\"

The \"service\" exhibition will be installed July through October, and the deadline for submissions is May 23. \"Diversity\" will be on view November through next February, and the deadline is Sept. 19.

Artists can submit two-dimensional or three-dimensional art that can be hung flat to a wall. The works can be representational or abstract, framed or otherwise mounted, and finished in appearance. The work should address the theme of service or diversity however the artist interprets it.

Two lobby walls of the North Loop bank are dedicated to local art, featuring about a dozen pieces. Since December 2001, the bank has hosted a variety of community art exhibits.

To submit work samples, send one of the following: slides (up to eight duplicates in a plastic sheet), promotional brochures, postcards or photos, a Minnesota Artists online address or your Web address where samples can be viewed. Include details of the medium used and dimensions of each work, title, date and artist\'s name.

In the submission, include an artist statement. Indicate which piece(s) reflect which theme. If responding to an open call, indicate that you would like to be considered for all shows. The statement should be less than 400 words.
