Franklin Bank, 525 Washington Ave. N., is seeking works for three Community Art exhibitions.

Two lobby walls of the North Loop bank are dedicated to local art, featuring about a dozen pieces. Since December 2001, the bank has hosted a variety of community art exhibits.

The three exhibits and their deadlines are:

"Art by Franklin Bank customers" (open to individuals, organizations, and businesses), due Feb. 19;

"Service," due May 23;

"Diversity," due Sept. 19.

Artists can submit entries now. Each exhibit will be displayed for approximately four months.

Artists can submit two-dimensional work or three-dimensional art (that can be hung flat to a wall). The works can be representational or abstract, framed or otherwise mounted, and finished in appearance.

To submit work samples, send one of the following: slides (up to eight duplicates in a plastic sheet); promotional brochures, postcards or photos; a Minnesota Artists online address or your Web address where samples can be viewed. Include the medium used and dimensions of each work, title, date and artist's name.

The bank also wants an artist's statement in each submission. The statement should be less than 400 words.

For the themed group shows "Service" and "Diversity" indicate which piece(s) reflect which theme. Indicate if you would like to be considered for all shows. Resumes and exhibition lists are also welcome.

Send materials to: Margo Ashmore, curator, 1300 6th St. N.E., Minneapolis, 55413 in a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Deadline is Nov. 1. Submit work by e-mail to For more information, call 867-4874.
