MacPhail Center wins U.S. Bank award

The MacPhail Center for the Arts, 1128 LaSalle Ave., has received a U.S. Bank Sally Ordway Irvine award for education. Presented annually, this award recognizes individuals and organizations that contribute to Minnesota's arts and cultural communities in the categories of vision, initiative, commitment and education.

Other recipients of this year's award are KFAI Fresh Air Radio, Textile Center of Minnesota, Lawrence M. Redmond and Minnesota Citizens for the Arts.

Winners received a crystal trophy and $2,500 at a Jan. 6 awards program at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul.
