The parking ramp at the Government Center, 300 S. 6th St. will re-open to public parking Monday, Jan. 13. Last month, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners approved reopening of the ramp that had been closed following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Security and surveillance in the ramp have since been upgraded.
People with disabilities will receive one hour of free parking, with regular rates for additional hours. For the general public, the ramp charges $2 for the first hour and approximately $1.50 for each additional hour.
Only county and state employees (not the general public), will be eligible for monthly parking contracts.
