The public is invited to give input on the city’s 10-year Transportation Action Plan, newly underway, on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 5-7 p.m. in 1st floor conference rooms at Butler Square, 100 N. 6th St.
The plan will address transportation options and issues such as pedestrians, bicycles, transit, automobiles and freight. Once completed, it will include a Web-based fact book, a Downtown “transit and street operations plan” and new street design guidelines “that reflect the characteristics of the surroundings,” stated a city press release.
The workshops will include presentations on transit challenges facing the city, followed by “structured dialogue,” according the press release.
To learn more, call Charleen Zimmer at 673-3166 or show up at the Downtown workshop. Similar workshops will be held Oct. 18 at the North Commons Recreation Center, 1801 James Ave. N., and Oct. 26 at Sabathani Community Center, 310 E. 38th St. Those workshops are from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
