The Sixth Annual Loring Park Art Festival will bring 140 juried artists and their watercolors, oils, homemade paper, sculpture, textiles, photographs, glass, ceramics and jewelry to the Oak Grove Street & Hennepin Avenue park Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 6-7.

The free fest runs Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and also features family events such as an art tent (Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.), food, entertainment and music including jazz, fiddle, accordion and even a Swiss alphorn player.

The Loring celebration is one of three art festivals in Minneapolis that weekend; the Uptown and Powderhorn art fairs are also happening. Art lovers can shuttle among the three fests on Target's free "Art Hop" buses, which will run every 15-20 minutes during the Loring festival's hours.
