The city and state are jointly studying flooding problems for neighborhoods bordering I-35W and giving residents the opportunity to fill out questionnaires.
The study is specifically looking at those areas that drain into the I-35W tunnel, which starts at approximately 39th street and goes north directly under the freeway to the Mississippi River.
Affected Downtown neighborhoods are Loring Park, Elliot Park, Downtown East and Downtown West.
The 13-item questionnaire from the Department of Public Works and State Department of Transportation asks for the location and severity of flooding and for the person to rank the importance of various flood protection options.
For a copy of the questionnaire, contact Mitchell Sawh at Public Works, 673-2048. Responses are due at the end of April.
