DFL sets precinct sites

The Minneapolis DFL Party is holding new precinct caucuses Tuesday, March 1. The meetings will elect delegates to ward and city conventions who will decide City Council and mayoral endorsements.

In the past, the DFL delegates selected during the presidential election year served the following year to make city endorsements.

All caucuses begin at 7 p.m. The locations for wards that include Downtown are:

3rd Ward (Nicollet Island/East Bank)

All Precincts: Webster Open School, 425 NE 5th St.

5th Ward (The northern part of North Loop)

All Precincts: North Community High School, 1500 James Ave. N.

7th Ward

Precinct 5 (southern Loring Park): Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, 511 Groveland Ave.

Precincts 6-7 (Riverfront west of 3rd Avenue South; Downtown core north of 7th Street and west of Hennepin from the river to I-94): Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S. 6th St., auditorium.

Precinct 8 (northern Loring Park): Minneapolis Community and Technical College, 1501 Hennepin Ave. S., T1000 Technical Building

Precinct 9 (Downtown core south of 7th Street and eastern Loring Park): Minneapolis Community and Technical College, 1501 Hennepin Ave. S., T1500 Technical Building

Precinct 10 (Elliot Park): Elliot Recreation Center, 1000 E. 14th St., Pavilion.

Precinct 11 (Mill District and Metrodome area): Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S. 6th St., auditorium.
