The North Loop Neighborhood Association is holding an election for five open board seats at its annual meeting Wednesday, Jan. 26.
The neighborhood covers Downtown west of 3rd Avenue North, and the riverfront west of Hennepin Avenue, South to Washington Avenue.
Residents who live, work or own property in the North Loop are eligible to run for a board seat. Nominations for board seats will be taken before and during the meeting. Interested applicants can also nominate themselves for the board.
The North Loop Neighborhood Association reviews development projects in the neighborhood and advocates for residents and business owners in the area. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings and serve on committees that plan North Loop events and deal with neighborhood livability issues, among other things.
The board recently hired local design firm Little & Company to come with a new identity and logo for the North Loop - a project designed to raise the North Loop's profile.
The annual meeting will start 7 p.m. in the community room at Heritage Landing, 415 N. 1st St.
