A Man of Many Hats
Timberwolves' star Troy Hudson is taking the Target Center floor in a whole new light this Saturday night -- as a musical performer. T-Hud, as I like to call him, will perform tracks from his debut hip-hop album, "The Stress of Both Worlds."
All ticket proceeds will benefit the Troy Hudson 16 Foundation and the Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation. A limited number of V.I.P. tickets are available, which include a pre-concert meet-and-greet with Hudson, a T-Hud signed poster and V.I.P. seating during the show.
Saturday, Dec. 18, 7 p.m. Target Center, U.S. Bank Theater, 600 1st Ave. N. $18.75 in Advance, $21.75 at the door. 673-0900.
Last time the Barenaked Ladies were getting ready to come through town, I had just given birth to my daughter and was lying in a hospital room trying desperately to remember whether I'd sent in that round of "Holly's picks" (which included the Barenaked boys' performance) before checking into the hospital.
Maybe the wacky, Grammy-winning Canadians can make that into a song. After all, this ensemble has brought us such greats as "Be My Yoko Ono," "If I Had a $1,000,000" and "Alternative Girlfriend."
Monday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m. Historic Orpheum Theatre, 910 Hennepin Ave. S. $35-$45. 673-0404.
