The New Central Library Project Office is offering free, 60-minute hardhat tours of the new Downtown library under construction at 300 Nicollet Mall on Wednesdays, 4 p.m., through Nov. 17.
Tour-goers will walk through the construction site and learn about new features for the library designed by architect Cesar Pelli. The five-story building on Nicollet Mall's northern end is expected to open in spring 2006.
The New Central Library will be home to the state's largest public library collection and the country's fourth largest.
Those interested in a tour are asked to make a reservation with the New Central Library Project Office. Group size is limited for the tours.
