The producers of a new CBS reality show, "The Cut" -- a cut-throat competition among aspiring fashion designers vying to design a clothing collection for the Tommy Hilfiger label -- will hold an open casting call at The Grand Hotel this week, Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 14-16.

The reality show will feature 16 fashion-conscious competitors living together in a loft in New York City's Soho neighborhood.

The aspiring designers will be tested on their style sense through a series of "fashion world" challenges that test their business and fashion potential, said Tedd Schermerhorn, a casting producer for "The Cut."

Hilfiger will host the show and appear each week with his "Style Council" to rate the participants on their work. Each week, one designer will be cut from the show.

The winner will be mentored by Hillfiger and have the chance to create his or her own clothing line.

The three-day casting call will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Grand Hotel is at 615 2nd Ave. S.
