Nate Beck’s Natedogs food cart has launched its first retail product, bottles of his signature Honey-Spiced Mustard. The launch marks one of the first retail products released by a local street food vendor.
Beck’s Natedogs cart launched in 2011 and quickly became known as much for its mustards as its hot dogs. Beck makes all of his mustards by hand from all-natural ingredients. His line of beer mustards made from local beers is especially popular, but Beck wanted to focus on his original honey mustard recipe to start.
“You don’t want to do a cover song as your first single,” said Beck.
Fans of Natedogs beer mustards shouldn’t have to wait long to bring their favorite style home, however. Beck plans to add bottled beer mustards soon and may release several beer mustards as a set. The Honey-Spiced mustard is currently available at the Natedogs cart and online at Natedogs.com. Beck plans to bring the mustard to additional retail locations soon. He said the mustard will be available at the Electric Fetus in May for the stores’ “MinnEconomy” program.
