On Monday, Feb. 27, two of Minneapolis’ best seafood chefs will challenge each other in an interactive culinary event for charity at the “Seafood Throwdown.” Sea Change chef de cuisine Jamine Malone will square off against Oceanaire chef Robert Wholfeil in a demonstration cooking challenge using mystery ingredients and be judged by a panel of local celebrity foodies. Best of all, attendees will get to sample the results.

The Seafood Throwdown event is intended to showcase the use and preparation of sustainable seafood. It is sponsored by the Minnesota Zoo’s Fish Smart program, which promotes awareness of sustainable seafood. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Fish Smart program.

The Seafood Throwdown will be held at Kitchen in The Market in the Midtown Global Market, 920 E. Lake St. Tickets are $60. To purchase tickets, call 612-568-5486.
