Perhaps you'd like a spot of tea with a terrier, a scone with a Scottie or some cake with a chow chow.

Here's your chance chance.

It's called "Tea for my Dog and Me," and it's set for Saturday, March 27, 2 p.m. at the Van Dusen Mansion, 1900 LaSalle Ave. Discerning dogs and their polite people are cordially invited to what is billed as "a British-style high tea."

The event is a fund-raiser for the Hastings-based Animal Ark shelter. The cost is $20 per head and you can come with or without a dog.

Chris Vikken owns the Van Dusen, a high-end bed and breakfast, and lives there with her dog, Coffee. She had adopted her previous dog, Teddy, from Animal Ark.

In addition to tea, finger sandwiches and pastries, the event will include a drawing for a free night's stay at the Van Dusen.
