City to hold conference on racial disparities

One Minneapolis: A Call to Action, a conference about racial and ethnic disparities in the region will be held 8:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m., Dec. 2 at the Minneapolis Convention center.

A part of International Human Rights Week, the conference was organized by the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Department of Human Rights.

The conference will involve experts from business, government and the community analyzing data about racial and ethnic disparities and offering solutions to the problem. It will also challenge the community to reduce the disparities.

The Minneapolis Department of Human Rights enforces civil rights ordinances in the city, investigates discrimination in city building projects and investigates complaints brought against Minneapolis Police officers.

One Minneapolis: A Call to Action is sponsored by Wells Fargo, Mortenson Construction, Health Partners, the Metropolitan Council and the Minneapolis Foundation.
