A long line of beer enthusiasts — many sporting beards — waited to check out the new Fulton Brewery on Friday afternoon and buy growlers.
The brewery, a couple blocks from Target Field, celebrated its grand opening on Friday with fans and city officials, including Mayor R.T. Rybak who greeted people who gathered for the opening around 4 p.m.
The folks behind Fulton Beer started the homebrewing business in a garage in the Fulton neighborhood in southwest Minneapolis two years ago. The company plans to open a taproom in the new brewery, too, to allow people to try various Fulton beers on the premises. They are hoping to open it sometime this winter.
