Today marks the 10th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan following the events of 9/11. While the anniversary of the attack itself was marked with much national reflection, the anniversary of the war has largely been met with silence.
One group, 10 Years + Counting is working to keep the war from fading for the public consciousness. The artist-lead organization recently held a show called “No Glory” at the Form + Content Gallery, 210 2nd St. N, featuring the works of over a dozen artists inspired by the continuing war. The exhibition was inspired by World War II veteran Jay Wenk’s quote “There’s horror enough. No Glory.” The show ran through Oct. 1 and was one of over 350 events nationwide to mark the anniversary.
