The City of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Public Schools and Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board have announced the second annual Day of Action for the “We Want You Back Initiative. The program aims to get un-enrolled students back in school. The initiative is seeking volunteers for the Day of Action event, to be help on September 10.

The organizers of the event hope to enroll 100 lapsed students back into school during the event, a goal based on the number of students who re-enrolled during the inaugural Day of Action. This year, volunteers will conduct outreach at parks, libraries, community events, as well as a door-knocking campaign on September 10.

If you would like to volunteer for with the We Want You Back initiative or know a young person who would like to return to school, contact Jo Haberman, Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board at 612-673-2720 or wwyb@ycb.org. For more information, visit wewantyoubackmpls.org.
