The city is planning an official North Side Clean-up Day on Saturday, June 4.
In the days after the May 22 tornado, thousands of people have reached out to see how they can help people impacted by the storm, according to city officials.
Urban Homeworks, a North Minneapolis-based housing organization, has been leading volunteer efforts so far. About 3,000 volunteers have worked on initial debris assessments and cleanup, according to a city news release.
The city is hoping to recruit 2,000 volunteers for the June 4 Clean-up Day. Call 673-3000 to register.
