Catholic Charties will celebrate the groundbreaking for Higher Ground, a new housing program for the homeless on the northern edge of Downtown, on Tuesday, May 24.
Higher Ground, 165 Glenwood Ave. N., will provide 336 units of housing when completed next summer. It will serve as a replacement for Catholic Charities' Secure Waiting Space, providing 200 emergency and transitional beds.
The $18 million project will provide people with job skills training, mental health services and other support services, according to a Catholic Charities news release.
The groundbreaking will be held 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
