The North Loop Neighborhood Association will be holding elections for six open board seats at its annual meeting Wednesday, Jan. 28.
The North Loop covers Downtown west of 3rd Avenue North, and the riverfront west of Hennepin Avenue, South to Washington Avenue. The neighborhood group is made up of 11 board members who either live, work or own property in the area.
Nominations will be accepted before and during the meeting. Interested applicants can also nominate themselves for an open seat.
The North Loop group weighs in on development projects in the area and organizes neighborhood events, such as the annual Wing Fling and National Night Out.
The North Loop Neighborhood Association recently submitted a $193,000 Neighborhood Revitalization Program spending proposal that would set aside money for marketing and development planning, among other things. The plan is currently working its way through the city approval process.
The annual meeting will be held 7 p.m. at the Heritage Landing community room, 415 N. 1st St.
