Hennepin County seeks applicants for the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District board. There are two open seats for the three-year positions. The application deadline is Thursday, Jan. 29.
The district coordinates water and land resource management in the Minnetonka/Minnehaha drainage basin. The board supervises natural resource conservation through land utilization, flood control and other public health and welfare needs.
An applicant shouldn't be a public officer and must be a district resident. The watershed's boundary is irregular but includes an area approximately six blocks around the Chain of Lakes and Minnehaha Creek, extending west to Lake Minnetonka and south into Richfield and Bloomington.
To apply, call Judy Chumley, 348-3257; or you can download an application from www.hennepin.us under "Citizen Advisory Boards and Committees."
