Friday-Sunday, Jan. 16-18 Boat Show this weekend

Organizers of the 32nd annual Boat Show hope they can provide a temporary antidote to the winter doldrums.

More than 200 exhibitors will showcase the latest in marine industry trends at the

Minneapolis Convention Center

Wednesday-Sunday, Jan. 21-25.

Displays will include powerboats, sailboats, fishing boats, kayaks, canoes and docks, among other things.

Antique and classic boats will also be on display, including a rare 17-foot, Century Sea Maid barrelback built in 1942. Production stopped on the boats shortly before

World War II.

For water enthusiasts who prefer to go powerless, the Minnesota Canoe Association will display canoes and kayaks, and hold seminars on paddling. Canoe experts will hold a cedar-strip canoe-building demonstration.

Boat show hours are the following: Wednesday, 5 p.m.-10 p.m.; Thursday-

Friday, noon-10 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children, ages 5-11. Children under 5 can enter the show for free.
