The sky opened up and the angels sang “Ahh! Bar La Grassa!” I sat at the kitchen counter with a friend and had such a delicious meal, I swiped a menu to bring home to show my husband. I’m salivating right now, thinking about the food.
Rant: Snow plow road closure
Can we please get some notice when the city, seeming randomly, decides to close a major artery by parking a snow plow across the way, such as access to Interstate 94 off Hennepin Avenue? Took me over a half hour to go from 24th and Hennepin to the Walker Art Center area. At the very least, warn us blocks before that we should be taking an alternate route.

You often address livability issues in downtown. I have lived here for three years and have just about had enough with what has become a real problem; spitting. I can’t walk down Nicollet Mall without stepping in spit a dozen times. On more than one occasion, I have been sprayed when some jerk’s aim wasn’t as good as he thought. Yesterday I was hit in the face while getting off the light rail.
I understand the police have bigger issues to deal with, but if they would just hand out fines every once in a while, maybe offenders would get the message (or the city would collect enough money to deal with other crimes).
Recently I saw two officers speaking with a couple of young men on Hennepin in front of Block E. The men spit on the sidewalk several times during the conversation. When the officers were finished talking to them, they went on their way. Seriously. Can we please clean this up?
