A free personal safety workshop on Nov. 17 will teach participants how to reduce their chances of becoming a victim of an attack.
Instructor Mary Brandi is a 4th degree black belt with the Midwest Karate Association. She also co-authored book and DVD “Scenarios in Self-Defense.”
Brandi’s demonstration will help participants learn to identify a possible attack. It will also highlight the role that distance awareness, body language and tone of voice can play. Also those attending will learn last-ditch techniques.
The workshop is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave.
To reserve a spot call Minneapolis Police Department Crime Prevention Specialist Renee Allen at 673-5163 or Jana Metge with Citizens for a Loring Park Community at 874-9002.
