The Oak Street Cinema is hosting the premiere of "Civilian Unarmed Peacekeeping: Building a Nonviolent Peaceforce" on Sept. 21 — the International Day of Peace.
The short film explores the role of peacekeepers in conflict zones in Sri Lanka, Guatemala and the Phillipines. Peaceworkers from the Nonviolent Peaceforce, which has administrative offices in Loring Park, will be at the premiere. The event will also feature poetry, music and other activities commemorating the International Day of Peace.
Doors open at 5 p.m. The Oak Street Cinema is at 309 Oak St. SE.
