After a successful first year, North Loop Days is back and has been expanded to a two-day event.

To kick off the weekend, Friday night there will be a block party from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Heritage Landing Parking Lot, 415 N. 1st St. The event is kid-friendly, pet-friendly and an opportunity to meet your neighbors, neighborhood organizations and businesses. The event will include live music, root beer floats and a wine sampling, followed by a vote to determine what new wine will be sold at neighborhood businesses.

On Saturday North Loop Days will feature the annual Volleyball Tournament from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Herschel Lofts lawn at 748 N. 3rd St. The winning team will be rewarded. Sign up online at northloop.org. Also, if you want to participate but don’t have a team the committee will place you with a group.

After the game, festivities and the awards ceremony will continue from 4 to 6 p.m. with a happy hour including half-price appetizers and two-for-one drink specials at The Loop, 606 Washington Ave. N.
