Portions of 3rd Avenue North recently closed for construction of the new Minnesota Twins ballpark are scheduled to reopen in about a week, the Minnesota Ballpark Authority reported.
Construction crews scheduled a concrete pour for Monday that would complete sewer work in the area. If the weather cooperates, the concrete will cure in about seven days, allowing traffic to return to the two eastern lanes by Feb. 5.
Still, more closures are guaranteed over the next few years on 3rd Avenue North.
The Minnesota Ballpark Authority reported that utility work would close portions of the street several times over the coming year. The street was scheduled for a rebuild in 2009 to make it more pedestrian friendly, as well.
