CPM Companies is proposing a new 75-unit apartment building in the Loring Park neighborhood.
The Minneapolis-based developer is looking to build a six-story building on two surface lots across from the 19 Bar on 15th Street, according to preliminary plans submitted to the City Planning Commission Committee of the Whole.
The project features a majority of “junior bedroom” units that CPM is also building in its Spectrum Apartments & Townhomes project in Marcy-Holmes. The units, which the developer says “will appeal to those new to the workforce,” are a hybrid between studio apartments and one-bedroom units with a partial wall separating the bedroom and living areas. The remaining 20 units would be two-bedroom apartments.
The proposal features 34 enclosed parking stalls for cars, a total of 65 spaces for bikes and an outdoor amenity deck on the roof.
Daniel Oberpriller, principal with CPM, said the seller, Kam Talebi of the Crave restaurant chain, is a partner on the project. DJR Architecture is handling the design. CPM manages The Parkway Apartments building across the street at LaSalle & 15th.
The City Planning Commission Committee of the Whole will review the preliminary plans during its Aug. 18 meeting. Oberpriller said they’re looking to break ground by the end of the year.
