Minneapolis may say goodbye to more surface parking.
Java Companies is planning to build a one-story brick building for two restaurants and a hair salon on top of a surface parking lot at 420 E. Hennepin Ave.
The approximately 5,100-square-foot building would also replace a smaller building that was built as a gas station in 1970, according to plans submitted by Tanek Architecture Design.
The project includes a building divided into the three establishments and 19 off-street parking spaces. The roughly triangular lot has street frontage along East Hennepin Avenue, Central Avenue Northeast and Fifth Street Southeast.
The project is slated for the Minneapolis City Planning Commission’s April 27 meeting.
