The City of Minneapolis is hosting four open houses to give the community a chance to learn more about a proposal to allow Accessory Dwelling Units (also known as granny flats) in the city.

The small flats are attached to or on the same property as other residential properties. The units are allowed in the city’s Ventura Village neighborhood and parts of East Phillips and Phillips West, but not other areas in the city.

Here’s the schedule for the open houses:

—   Saturday, Aug. 23, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Hosmer Community Library, 347 E. 36th St.

—   Wednesday, Aug. 27, 5–7 p.m. Eastside Neighborhood Services, 1700 2nd St. NE

—   Tuesday, Sept. 16, 5–7 p.m. North Regional Library, 1315 Lowry Ave. N.

—   Wednesday, Sept. 17, 5–7 p.m. Kenwood Community Center, 2101 W. Franklin Ave.
