D’Amico Catering will be opening an event venue in Loring Park.
Minneapolis-based D’Amico and Partners plans to open the currently unnamed venue in Loring Corners at 1629 Hennepin Ave. S. early next year.
A 3,300-square-foot space originally home to the Stutz Bearcat Car Dealership, the first car showroom in Minneapolis, and a 4,150-square-foot room will be able to host wedding parties, corporate gatherings, galas and other events. They seat a max of 140 and 230 respectively and feature built-in bars.
D’Amico will cater the venue with its kitchen in International Market Square.
The historic space opens onto the Loring Corners alleyway opposite 4Bells, the new chicken and seafood restaurant from the Butcher & the Boar team, thanks to an old garage door. Because it was originally a car showroom, the venue also has large, old-fashioned elevator doors serving as a backdrop for events or used for photos.
The company plans to open the event space in January 2016.
