Erik Anderson and Jamie Malone, both named Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs, have revealed the location of Brut, their highly anticipated new restaurant: the former Sapor Cafe space.
The two broke the news that they’ll be opening the restaurant next spring in the Washington Avenue space to Mpls/St.Paul Magazine and the Star Tribune. Minneapolis-based Shea Inc. is designing the 70-seat Brut, named for the sparkling wine.
Sapor closed in June following 15 years at 428 Washington Ave. N. in the North Loop neighborhood.
Anderson, named Best New Chef in 2012, and Malone, name in 2013, have both worked at Sea Change and Porter & Frye. The two are planning a French-style menu based off of several Brut pop-ups they’ve hosted since first announcing the concept last June.
