Fitness studio Alchemy 365 will expand to Marcy-Holmes

Updated: December 7, 2015 - 9:33 am

Alchemy 365 is planning its second location, expanding the fitness studio to the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood across the river from downtown Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis-based business will expand with the new space in the historic Machine Shop building at 120 3rd Ave. SE this winter. The 6,100-square-foot studio will have three fitness rooms, 15 parking spaces, showers and a private patio for guests.

Alchemy 365 opened its flagship studio in the North Loop’s Gurley Lofts at 246 9th Ave N. in March. The team will offer reciprocity to members of the first location.

Former CorePower Yoga studio manager Molly Hanten created Alchemy 365’s unique group fitness program with Scott Jagodzinski and founders of CrossFit business Union Fitness, Tyler Quinn and Andrea and Mike Jones. It combines high-intensity conditioning, strength training and yoga.

Mike Jones said their small, boutique-style classes may sound intimidating, but they’re open to all fitness levels and can be tailored to anyone’s abilities. Guests don’t have to register in advance and the North Loop location hosts an intro class on Tuesday nights for those looking to ease into Alchemy 365 workouts.

“Alchemy is much more than just a studio or gym. We have a community here in which anyone and everyone is welcome,” Andrea Jones said in a statement. “Everyone is in control of making their workout what they want it to be. Because no two people are at the same level and pace, it’s easy to remove yourself from any comparison and feel proud. That is the Alchemy difference.”

Alchemy 365 is planning to open a third location in the Twin Cities next spring.
