Hennepin Theatre Trust announces 2015 Made Here artists

Made Here, a project transforming vacant downtown storefronts into makeshift art galleries, is set to return this year with 30 storefront “showcases.”

Now in its fourth round, Made Here seeks to activate the downtown Minneapolis Cultural District with local art. The 2015 series, with the theme of “intersections,” will be unveiled at a free, public launch on Wednesday, June 3 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The project from the Hennepin Theatre Trust has expanded this year with a “fence wrap” of graphic art of a construction site at Hennepin and 4th Street. The Third Bird will also host a pop-up gallery.

The project will encompass 16 blocks of downtown and will run in tandem with two new pop-up parks, dubbed parklots, this summer. Made Here is the largest storefront window initiative in the country.

The Hennepin Theatre Trust announced the Made Here artists Thursday.
