With Art-A-Whirl just about a month away, the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), which puts on the annual arts event, is looking for volunteers.

Volunteer positions include preparation for the weekend, including hanging and lighting artwork, working information booths, to keeping track of how many people attend the event which will be May 17-19.

To be eligible to help out, volunteers must attend at least one orientation meeting at NEMAA headquarters, located in the California building at 2205 California St. NE, in Suite 118.

There are three orientation meetings scheduled: Wednesday, April 24, at 6 p.m.; Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m.; Tuesday, April 30, at 6 p.m.

NEMMA said the meetings should last roughly one hour. Food and drink will be provided and volunteers will receive a free Art-A-Whirl T-shirt.
